Blogging: To Blog Or Not To Blog?
That Is The Question
Are you blogging?
Should you be? Why would you want a blog in the first place? Yeah, I know…lots of questions. Now how about some answers?
Okay, let’s talk about why you would even consider blogging in the first place. Of course, I’m writing this blog post under the assumption that you, the reader, either have a home business that you’re marketing online, or you’re involved in some other type of online marketing.
So why blog?
This may be pretty basic stuff to some of you, but for others my ramblings just might help you decide whether or not you want to include blogging in your marketing strategy, so let’s look at some of the benefits of having your own blog.
- You can really target your traffic. If you create a blog about a topic or topics related to what you are offering, it will attract readers that chances are will also be interested in what you are offering.
- People love blogs. Blogging about topics that are near and dear to your target markets’ hearts will draw them to you like a magnet – once you learn how to get your blog seen of course. This perk is very closely related to benefit number 3…
- People search for information on the internet. Blogging about solutions to your target markets’ problems will help them find you faster, especially if you know how to make the most of your keywords.
- This one is actually my favorite. The more “real” you are in your blogging, the more personality you put into your posts, the more popular you and your blog will become. People are sick and tired of fakers. Be yourself, and you’ll attract people who like you and who are like you.
- Google loves blogs. If you add a relevant post every day, Google will show you love by giving you top ranking for your keywords. In other words, if you put some good blogging techniques into practice, you’ll find your posts on page 1 of Google for your chosen keywords more and more often.
- It’s easy to incorporate social marketing into your blogging strategy. These 2 strategies actually mesh pretty well, and each will boost the results of the other.
- If you love to write like I do, its fun! Plus, you become more and more of a master in your niche as you continually research for your daily blog posts.
That’s a pretty good start, don’t you think? From my own experience, I’d have to say blogging is a pretty smart way to go if you’re marketing online. It’s a great way to get targeted leads and a great way to make money.
But there’s actually a lot of behind the scenes stuff that goes into blogging that might make the idea of getting into this marketing strategy a little daunting, especially for the brand new marketer. There are lots of choices to be made and lots of little tips and tricks that of course you want to know if you want to at least keep up with the competition.
So is there an easier way? Of course there is. There are always choices. You can hire a pro to set it all up for you. You can leave it up to a company to handle everything, which is great if you have the kind of dough to do it.
The only problem with this somewhat pricy choice is that for those of you with a home business, it’s not exactly duplicable now, is it? Besides, stop paying the high price, and you’re left high and dry, aren’t you? And you still don’t know how to do any of that stuff yourself, which is definitely not a good thing.
